CHOICES

Choices is a workshop held once a week for two hours (either on tues. or fri.) for a period of eight weeks, Applicants are required to attend "ALL" sessions.

Criteria for Choices is that you would need to be a HIV positive male who sleeps with men... All applicants will receive refreshments, two movies tickets per session (after the eights weeks are complete you would have acquired a total of 16 movies tickest) and $50 for completing the workshop...

Many Men Many Voices "3MV" is a group based around behavior change and building communites, the next session is fri. Dec. 14th- sun. Dec. 16th (Fri 12/14/07 6pm-9pm, Sat & Sun 12-15-07 10am-5pm...

All participants are required to attend all three days of the workshop, participants are given metrocards each day of attendance, as well as lite refreshments on the fri that a session is scheduled and a contenintal breakfast and lunch is provided sat and sun, upon completion of the workshop participants are giving $50 for participating.

Let's talk about our new and improved night life... first we have "Ocean " tuesdays at Splash, This party is very cute, I havn't frequented it as often as I would like because of that lil' thing I have called a day job, but the times I have gone I always have a great time...

Now thursdays have been on lock for the last couple of years now by none other than the Nathan Williams "SPRUNG" party, as many of you may have heard Sprung has a new home at 579 Sixth Ave. bet 15th and 16th Streets in Chelsea & may I say It's like a rebirth of the original Luke and Leroys vibe.
I had a ball, it's a very laid back atmosphere and the patrons had such energy (I also noticed that the new Chelsea location drew a more diverse crowd and it was cool how everybody related to one another),.
The kidz were out to have a good time and that they did... It was'nt even 10:30pm and the house was damn near packed with sexy brothas of all shapes, sizes and colors ready to dance there lives away, DJ's Poison Ivy & M.K. did there thing as usual, the bartenders mixed the Hell out of my Kamikazii's (So excuse any typo's you may run across in reading this article... It's the bartenders fault, LOL).
Nathan is always such a sweet host, Miss Erica was in the house (did'nt yall just miss her, I know I did) and it was just a great vibe... Plus the staff was very welcoming, from security to the coat check, to the bartenders. Great Party all the way around... This is another party I will be at more times than not.

Saturday's belong to the one and only "Langston's", This is one of the hottest saturday parties I've been to in a good while...

"Triple S" A Total SSSuccess

The Triple S Shoot /Fashion Show was a complete success... Local talk shows were on hand conducting interviews (I'm dying to see how my interviews turned out), Photographers & Paparazzi were flashing away doing what they do best, The Red Carpet was an experience, The Village Voice promoted the event and the attendee's at the event read like a never ending list of who's who.

Some of those in attendance were, Myself of course "Maurice Runea" one of the designers debuting their clothing line, Nathan "7" Scott, Dwight O'Neal who was a major player in putting together this event, "The Living Legend" Tyra Allure Ross was the hostess for the evening looking faboulous as always, J.R. from the newly released independent film "Four Letter Word" and the previously released "Slutty Summer" (No they are not porn's, LOL), Sherry Sheppard from "The View" was there, author of gay erotica Nathan James, cast memebers from the show "Christopher Street", Lee Soulja, UNeQ Magazine, Baron graced the nite with his flawless performance as did Brooklyn's very own Shorty Roc, the rap duo Rebel Starr, Columbia recording artist Jesse O, Celebrity/ documentary photography DexStar G, Nyabel from "The Janice Dickinson Show" and Smoov, co-host of MTV's "Dances In The Hood"... Just to name a few...

A special shout out goes to the other designer of the evening Mani Chanprasith www.andreachandenim.com, Her denim jeans are off the hook... You know that dark raw denim we love and can't find... Well guess what? Mani's got em'.

Dwight O'Neal deserves a special Thank You and a standing ovation for pulling this event sucessfully together... Great Work, Job Well Done!

I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I didn't believe, but because they closed their doors to "my kind".

I am the person who has to hide what the world needs most, love.

I am the person ashamed to tell my friends that I'm a lesbian, because they constantly make fun of them.

I am the girl who hides her feelings from her family, for she knows that her parents wouldn't love her anymore if they knew she was a lesbian.

I am the boy, tied to a fence beaten to a bloody pulp and left to die because two straight men wanted to "teach me a lesson".

Excuse Me While I Vent A Little...

This whole Bush administration and everything associated with it needs to go.

I can't speak for the rest of society, But I miss the Clinton years... He was by far the best President I've seen in my life time and hopefully our next President will continue where Mr. Clinton left off and is able to fix all the mayhem, destruction, confusion, lies and lives that Bush and his administration single handedly destroyed.

Never in history has one President been associated with some much destruction... I urge "EVERYONE" able to vote to do so, So that this type of leadership is never repeated... Bush's two terms has left a few nations destroyed, killed and still killing millions, practically demolished our economy, never gave support to people of color (or the minority's as they like to refer to anyone not of Caucasian orgin) and bascically turned his back on the low and middle income people... This is why it's so important to vote (unless your in Florida... and we all know there voting policies).

Alot of us complain and gripe and then do nothing, we don't show up and show support for causes but we will be up 8am in the morning on a wednesday to get that Macy's sale, we don't go to "free" forums and rallys so our voices can be heard and respected, but we will pay 200 dollars for a rap concert, we don't have money to donate to good causes but we sure found it in our budgets to buy that new Prada bag... Get my point?

Awhile ago I was told "The only power people have over you is the power you give them". I wonder sometimes what our ancestors would think of the society we've become... They fought so hard to be free, independant and productive in their own lives and look what we've become, a society of selfishness and disconnect.

The system is set up to create failure... The welfare system is set up to keep single mother households fatherless, the prison system is meant to destroy (felons that have served their time are denied their right to vote), now I don't know about you but I feel If you served your time why are you still being punised well after your releashed? Just a question...

Did You Miss Me!!!

Hello All, I know I've been gone for a few weeks, unfortunately it's been all work and very little play (Lord knows I need a short vacation from life, lol).
Well let me bring you up to date some on somethings as to why I've been so busy... My fashion designs are taking off, my online magazine has also caught the eye of some entertainment personalities, I've been trying to put the final touches on my website and i'm in the process of creating some new projects as well as still trying to hold it down at GMHC... So forgive me when I'm missing in action.
So with that being said, I thought I would share a joke that was sent to me by a very dear friend, when we read it we had to laugh at the fact that although funny, it had some truth to it, as do many jokes...

A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below, He descended a bit more and shouted...
"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago but I don't know where I am."
The woman below replied, "You're in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."
"You must be in Information Technology," said the balloonist.
"I am," replied the woman, "how did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is probably technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information and the fact is, I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help at all! If anything, you've delayed my trip."
The woman below responded, "You must be in Management."
"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?"
"Well," said the woman, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You have risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise, which you've no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my f#%king fault."
